This quotation is taken from the Christian body of thought. Abd-ru-shin seizes upon it so as to illuminate it anew in “The Light of Truth”. Whereby for the reader who follows him in his explanations, a new expanding vista develops especially in respect to the era of the history of humanity in which we presently find ourselves.
The quotation “All that is dead in Creation shall be awakened, so that it may pass judgement upon itself!” contains the idea of “self-judgement” which indicates that man is made subject to a type of judgement which he is unable to avoid. In this connection concepts like “The Day of Judgement” or “The Final Judgement” are brought forward and through Abd-ru-shin's explanations can be presented afresh in an understandable and logical manner.
The judging or better expressed the fulfilment of the judgement resembles the time of the harvest in which a decision must be reached as to which fruits are good and may be allowed to continue to exist and which fruits are bad and must become subject to destruction.
At the beginning of his lecture “All that is dead in Creation shall be awakened, so that it may pass judgement upon itself!” Abd-ru-shin points out a distortion in meaning which often comes about in respect to the understanding of that which is “dead”. On carrying this train of thought further, the explanation that what is being mentioned here is not the resurrection of all the dead, but the resurrection of all that is dead, totally new conclusions manifest.
What however is meant in concrete terms with the concept “all that is dead”?
In order to reach a better understanding, it might be useful first of all to compare human processes which are similar to the occurrences in nature: Everywhere in nature, with all living things, with plants or even with landscapes, with all bodies and forms, we find something vital, something actively living but also something slumbering which appears to have withered away.
Man himself as a personality does not however belong to nature; he originates from a species which lies above nature which Abd-ru-shin refers to as “spirit”. In his attribute as spirit man has at his disposal a personal capacity to express his will which turns him into the starting point and receptacle of his own thoughts and deeds, thus impacting and forming his personality himself.
This spirit is enveloped by a soul that belongs to a species of substance which in its ramifications forms nature. In addition it also receives for its respective sojourns on earth a physical body which in the period of time between birth and death serves him as a further cloak and tool; whereby one must mention here that the Grail Message speaks of several reincarnations of the human spirit which he uses more or less in accordance with his personal urge and the circumstances around him. The spirit of man wanders through the time on earth allotted to him, learning and also influencing nature. With each of his earth lives man changes, enriches or negatively affects his soul because it records everything that emanated from him.
The spirit of man is life. This life radiates the soul with its living power and in the long run the earthly body. Like all that is gross material, the earthly body is also subject to the law of the ripening and decaying of matter and so at the given time there comes that moment at which this living connection of radiations loses its strength and the earthly body dies. The spirit in this soul however, which must now separate from the body, continues to exist and as mentioned, in this cloak all of man's spiritual volition has been stored or impacted on it; it has become a firm component of his own self. Much of what has been impacted on it is living because through the volition of the spirit it is continuously activated and radiated through by its living power. Much however remains inactivated, and hangs as if dead on the threads of the soul, but in spite of this, it is still existent in a state of slumber.
Many religious doctrines report uniformly about a time of reckoning at which the living core, that is the spirit of man has to give account of its volition and deeds. This reckoning is also referred to with concepts like “The Day of Judgement” and “The Final Judgement”. There are however the most diverse as well as puzzling and frightening ideas about how such a judgement should be carried out.
On this, the Grail Message gives its very own explanation.
At the time of the Final Judgement a special power of radiation which originates from God, the origin of all things, flows unto man's soul. Through this process the soul – enveloping the spirit of man as the product of his volition and actions – enters into a magnetic field which forces everything present into activity. Everything which had up till then been slumbering or had been hanging as if dead in the soul must now come to life on earth, where at a point in time, it came into being. It must now become active and in so doing judge itself. “To judge” means that the producer must taste of the fruit of his volition even if the said volition had its beginnings in a previous earth life that lay a thousand years back.
If we now look back at the history of mankind, we will recognise lengthy periods of time in which the living conditions, seen from our present perspective, can only be described as inhumane and which we would only too readily like to see consigned to the past.
If we take into consideration however that for decades now we have been subjected to the consequences of the Last Judgement or the Final Judgement, then we should not be surprised that it is just at this time that all these things around us are being revived and that so much hate, perfidy, cruelty and all other condemnable things about which we hear of daily are befalling humanity.
The awakening of all that is dead and as a result to have to be judged gives the producer either the reward or the punishment which he deserves, also the possibility of recognition and freeing himself from all that is false that still hangs on to his soul. The Laws of Nature which work as precipitations of the Will of the Creator are incorruptible and cannot be influenced by any power in the world.
The work “In the Light of Truth” illustrates in pictorial sequences the Will of the Creator to which man must subordinate himself if he wants to have peace. It is only when such true peace radiates from out of him, that it will be possible for the spirit of man to return to his spiritual home, paradise.
Here now is the lecture from the work “In the Light of Truth” –The Grail Message– by Abd-ru-shin, volume I/26:
All that is dead in creation shall be awakened, so that it may pass judgement upon itself!
The day of Judgement! Every prophecy that is connected with this proclaims the resurrection of all the dead for the Final Judgement! But this mankind have again introduced an error into the concept of the expression; for it is not meant to denote: Resurrection of all the dead, but resurrection of all that is dead! That is: The animating of all that is without movement in Creation, so that it may become alive for the Divine Judgement, either to be strengthened in its activity or annihilated!
Today nothing remains motionless; for the Living Power that now flows with greater intensity through all Creation urges, presses and forces everything into motion. Thereby it grows stronger, including that which has hitherto been inactive or dormant. It is awakened, strengthened, and thus must become active; in this awakening activity it is, so to speak, dragged before the Light, even if it wished to hide. It can also be said that it comes to the Light of itself and must reveal itself; it can no longer remain dormant, wherever it may be. As the popular saying is: “It comes to light!”
Everything becomes life and activity in this entire Creation through the new penetration of the Light! The Light thereby exerts a powerful attraction … whether that which rests or perhaps even hides in this Creation wishes it or not; and finally it will also come into contact with this Light, it cannot escape It, even if it had the wings of the morning no place in the entire Creation can grant it protection from the Light. There is nothing which will not be lit up.
But in the movement of being attracted, anything that cannot endure the radiation, thus anything that is not already voluntarily striving towards this Light, must be shattered and burnt up by the Light. What is attuned to the Light, however, will blossom and grow strong in the purity of its volition!
So is it also with all the qualities of the souls of these earthmen. What has hitherto appeared to be dead, what has slumbered in them, often unknown to men themselves, will awaken and become strong under the Power, will develop into thought and deed, so that according to its nature it will in manifesting judge itself by the Light! Reflect, whatever is slumbering in you will come to life! Therein lies the resurrection of all that is dead! The Living Judgement! The Day of Judgement!
Then you must deal with all that is within you, must purify yourselves, or you will perish with the evil if it is able to become too powerful in you. It will then hold you fast, break over your head with foaming and bubbling, to sweep you down with it into the abyss of disintegration; for it can no longer exist in the radiance of Divine Power! – –
To you I have now given the Word showing the way that, in the awakening of this Creation, leads you unerringly to the Luminous Heights, the way that will not let you fall, whatever happens and tries to flare up within you! If you have turned your gaze to the Light in loyal conviction, if you have rightly grasped my Word and absorbed it in your souls, then you will calmly ascend out of the chaos, cleansed and purified, free from everything that might once have hindered you from entering Paradise.
Watch and pray, therefore, that you do not let your clear outlook be dimmed by vanity and conceit, the most dangerous snares for these earthmen! Beware! As you have now prepared the soil within you, so will it happen to you during the purification of Creation! –
